The room had a lovely cozy decor. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the vibrant center of Windermere with plenty of eateries, restaurants, and shops. St Mary's Church was also nearby, which was convenient.

The staff are very good and courteous. The breakfast is exceptionally good with a lot of meals. The location is excellent and fab, right by Cook House Gallery. There are a lot of bars and restaurants nearby.

The hotel is very nice and lovely, with a central location close to the station. I was very happy with the extremely friendly staff and their very good service.

The room was newly furnished with a four-poster bed and a beautiful decor, and the location was perfect in the city center.

would like to stay there on the next trip as it was a very good stay for two nights. the staff are attentive, the hotel is clean and the breakfast is superb. the rooms are beautifully decorated and new-fashioned and generally offer central heating, tv set, and ironing facilities. the location is ideal in a beautiful area, near the centre of windermere, the beautiful surroundings and the lake district.

The place was fairly clean and the staff were very good and courteous. The position was great and lovely, with many bars and restaurants nearby. There was free Wi-Fi in public areas and the service in general was good.

i liked the decor n the hotel, i thought it was very tastefully done. The staff were very helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them. The hotels location was great.

the heating system sometimes had a tapping noise in the pipes, occasionally this would get on your nerves.

Loved our stay, had good 1 day overall. Overall it was neat and airy with a spa bath jacuzzi. The staff was really friendly and the food was excellent. The offered breakfast was great value for money and included plenty of options. The hotel was gorgeous and in a central location just next door to town center, all the bars/restaurants and Bowness and Windermere.

The location was perfect, very close to both Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere, with easy access to restaurants, and I loved the beautiful luxury queen room.

This hotel could be top notch but the luxury decor lacks the final attention to detail which would bring it to the standard it seems to seek to achieve. E.G. proper cable mangement, finishing of bathroom floor edges, attention to repairs needed E.G. bathroom floor tiles are wobbly. Staff need to be more discreet and a bit more professional. This from my experience of staying all over Europe. I enjoyed my stay but I think this hotel could make a little effort in a few areas to make all the difference. I hope it does: this is supposed to be constructive criticism!

The accommodation at The Howbeck & The Retreat was lovely and welcoming. The quality of the accommodation was excellent. The location was perfect for accessing the Lake District, as well as bars, restaurants, and shops. It was a really good experience staying there.
